9 Things to Do in NYC This Spring
By: ROS Team
Spring has finally arrived, and it’s time to enjoy all the great things NYC has to offer. We’ve put together a list of our favorite ways to spend your spring in the city. So grab your sunscreen and enjoy!
1. Visit the Brooklyn Botanic Garden
There are many things to do in New York City in spring, but one of our favorites is visiting the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
The garden has over 50 acres of gardens, including a beautiful greenhouse filled with tropical plants and flowers from around the world.

It also has an impressive sculpture garden that features works from some of today’s top artists like Louise Bourgeois and Alexander Calder.
You’ll find all sorts of things here: walking paths through beautiful landscapes; ponds filled with turtles; spaces for picnics or just relaxing under trees; rose bushes planted by Louis Armstrong himself!
2. See a Play at Lincoln Center
Lincoln Center is a performing arts center in Manhattan, New York City. It hosts many different theaters and venues of all types, including the Metropolitan Opera House and Vivian Beaumont Theater (where you can see plays). You can also attend concerts and dance performances there too!
If you want to experience some culture while visiting NYC this spring, then head over to Lincoln Center for some great theater shows!
3. Visit The High Line With Kids
The High Line is a great place for kids to run around and play, and there are plenty of playgrounds along the way.
There are also lots of restaurants and shops along the High Line, so you can grab lunch or take in some retail therapy while you’re there. The best part? It’s easy to get to by subway or taxi!
4. Five Boro Bike Tour
The Five Boro Bike Tour is a great way to see the city. You’ll ride through all five boroughs, taking in the sights and sounds of New York City as you go.

The route is well-marked, so you don’t have to worry about getting lost or stranded on your own–you’ll be guided by volunteers along the way!
If you’re looking for something fun and active that doesn’t take much time out of your day (or week), this might be just what you need. You can do it alone or with friends; either way, it’s sure to be an experience worth remembering!
5. Go To A Yankees Or Mets Game
Going to a Yankees or Mets game is a great way to spend an evening in the spring. Whether it’s a hot summer day or a chilly April evening, you’re sure to have fun at either stadium.
The excitement of seeing your favorite players on the field is contagious, especially when they’re playing well.
If you’ve never been to Yankee Stadium before, then it’s time for you to go! You’ll be blown away by how much had changed since 1923, when Babe Ruth played there, as well as all of the new additions made since then.
These days there are luxury boxes with amazing views of the Bronx and even better food than what was served back then.
Make sure not to miss out on checking out Monument Park, where greats like Lou Gehrig have their statues standing tall against those who would dare challenge them!
6. Visit Central Park
Central Park is the perfect place to visit this spring. It’s an ideal spot for a walk or runs, with plenty of space to stretch your legs and take in some fresh air. You can also go on a bike ride, have a picnic, and enjoy nature at its finest!

There are many things you can do at Central Park during this time of year:
- Take in some culture at one of its museums (the Metropolitan Museum of Art or The Frick Collection)
- Head over to Strawberry Fields, where John Lennon used to play guitar with his friends as a kid (he used to live nearby)
7. Explore The Brooklyn Flea
If you’re looking for a spot that’s full of unique gifts and souvenirs, the Brooklyn Flea is the place to go. This outdoor flea market is one of New York City’s largest, with over 200 vendors selling art, crafts, vintage items, and food.
The best part? You can find a ton of great deals at this outdoor marketplace! You’ll be able to browse through all sorts of vendors’ booths before deciding what products you want to buy–and if you don’t see anything there that catches your eye yet (or if all those booths are too crowded), there are always more vendors around waiting for customers like yourself!
8. Picnic at Forest Park in Queens
A picnic is always a great way to spend an afternoon, but with so many parks in the city, it can be hard to choose which one will suit your needs best.
If you’re looking for something close and convenient that isn’t too crowded, head over to Forest Park in Queens! This park has everything: playgrounds, ponds–even beaches! You can enjoy the fresh air while also enjoying time with friends or family members in this gorgeous setting.
9. NYC Spring Half Marathon
If you’re looking for a way to get into shape, the NYC Spring Half Marathon is a great option. The race takes place every year in May and has become one of the largest half-marathons in the world. There are many different runs, from 5k to 50k, so there is something for everyone!

This event is also an excellent opportunity to see New York City at its best: bright green leaves on trees lining Central Park South, tulips blooming in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park, Manhattan skyscrapers illuminated by sunlight reflecting through clouds above them…and more!
Final Thoughts
The weather is warming up, flowers are blooming, and it’s time to get out and have some fun. New York City has something for everyone this spring, and we’ve rounded up some of our favorites.
