Finding rental apartment is never the easiest task to do. When you are looking for an apartment, you want it to be perfect and for that, there are several things you to inspect before renting an apartment. It might take you months for you to finalize on your humble abode. There are so many reasons to consider when looking for the right apartment. It could be the neighborhood, the amenities, or the privileges in or surrounding your apartment building.

Here comes the challenging part. What if things seem to be all distinctive and fascinating only for the first few months? People make many mistakes while renting an apartment. An apartment can only truly be finalized when you lived in it for some time. Most of the time, you get what you have always desired. Other times, your nightmares turn into reality. You might have chosen a beautiful apartment within your budget and the best neighborhood to top it all. However, you realize sooner that a stench lingers in the area, which is not so occasional.

This might not seem like a very big issue at first. You could have a friendly talk with your neighbors about what bothers you, but if they fail to understand, then maybe it’s your cue to find yourself in a quieter place. It is alright sometimes to have the sound of loud bangs, thuds, footsteps. You would have that everywhere.

However, if you feel the noises go unbearable, and especially at odd hours, you must leave. It would help if you also took note of people who approach your place without informing you on prior notice. It becomes their habit and troubling for you. This becomes all the more important when you have a long work shift and less time to relax. Try these tips to deal with annoying neighbors to settle down things.

In case you recently had a job change and your new job location is farther away from your apartment, you must change your residence. It is all about convenience. Your home should not be too far from your office. It should be at least close to the subway. If not, it is going to take a toll on your energy and money.

Every year or after every eleven months, when it’s time to renew your lease, there is a 2%-3% increase in rent. Not among the most pleasant occasions. The average rent increase is 3%, slightly above it is a mere annoyance. However, if it goes up to 10%, you must negotiate with your landlords first. Next, if that does not work, you must think of ways to afford the negotiated rent.

If that does not work your way, you must give a month-time notice and make the calls to shift. Take note that your landlord has no right to neither increase the rent that is more than the average increment (without prior notice). They also must give you a month’s notice period for you to move. It would be best if you did not give in to the idea of increments that are not fundamentally right.

Do you have to fight for your personal parking spot every time you come back from the office or on a vacation? Do you often feel that the space for your vehicle is too cramped and congested? Your guests have no space to park their vehicles, or they have to wait for others to move their vehicles so that they can park or leave. Parking has become so sparse that you are never properly opening the doors of your car. Not just that, the parking authorities take no responsibility for the vehicles parked. Such things only lead to daily disappointments. This is one of the solid reasons to move.

5. Poor Management

The rent that you pay has maintenance and service fees included. You must get the services that you pay for. This includes the upkeep of properties of the apartment building that you live in. A poorly maintained swimming pool that has not been properly cleaned. A gymnasium with broken equipment or a tennis court with no supplies.

Along with that, there is no electricity backup or proper maintenance of the water supply. Your apartment building lacks the requirements for a basic standard of living. Management also includes the security of the building. If you sense that your apartment building lacks 24-hour surveillance and other basic security features, then it is for the best that you move out.
